US forces  reportedly carried out a strike on a vessel suspected of drug smuggling off the coast of Venezuela on Friday,  October 3, resulting in four fatalities.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced the strike in a post on X, stating that it brings the total number of such US attacks to at least four, leaving at least 21 people dead. An accompanying video shared by the Defense Secretary showed the boat speeding across the waves before being consumed by smoke and flames.

“Four male narco-terrorists aboard the vessel were killed,” the Pentagon chief wrote. He asserted that the strike “was conducted in international waters just off the coast of Venezuela while the vessel was transporting substantial amounts of narcotics — headed to America to poison our people.” Hegseth vowed that “These strikes will continue until the attacks on the American people are over!!!!”

President Donald Trump amplified the message on his Truth Social platform, posting the same video and claiming that “a boat loaded with enough drugs to kill 25 TO 50 THOUSAND PEOPLE was stopped… from entering American Territory.”

The latest military action follows the Trump administration's notification to Congress that it considers the United States to be engaged in an “armed conflict” with drug cartels. The letter, described as a legal justification for at least three previous strikes, stated that the president had determined these cartels are “non-state armed groups,” designated them as terrorist organizations, and found that their actions "constitute an armed attack against the United States.” The Pentagon’s notice also referred to suspected smugglers as “unlawful combatants.”

The US has not publicly released evidence to support its assertion that the targets of its strikes are confirmed drug smugglers, and some experts have argued that the summary killings are illegal even if they target narcotics traffickers.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his regional allies swiftly condemned the attack. Maduro called the US actions “an armed aggression to impose regime change, to impose puppet governments, and to steal Venezuela’s oil, gas, gold and all natural resources.” Speaking at an event in Caracas, Maduro ordered the mobilization of reservists and militias “if it is necessary to move from unarmed combat to armed combat.”

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), a leftist Latin American bloc, condemned the raid as an “illegal incursion” by US fighter jets and a violation of international law. ALBA argued that the repeated US strikes aim to destabilize the region and instill fear.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro, a fierce critic of Trump’s policy of striking alleged traffickers, argued that the true drug traffickers reside in the US, Europe, and Dubai. He wrote on X that “There were poor Caribbean youths on that boat,” adding that sinking vessels that could be intercepted instead “violates the universal judicial principal of proportionality.”

Tensions between the United States and Venezuela have been high, exacerbated by the deployment of multiple American warships in the region. Venezuela recently reported detecting an “illegal incursion” by five US fighter jets flying off its shores, which Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino denounced as a “provocation.” Last month, Trump dispatched 10 F-35 aircraft to Puerto Rico as part of the biggest military deployment in the area in over three decades.

Israel is readying itself to implement the first stage of US President Donald Trump's 20 point plan to return the hostages and end the war in Gaza, the Prime Minister's Office confirmed early on Saturday morning, October 4.

"We will continue to work in full cooperation with the President and his team to end the war in accordance with the principles set forth by Israel that are consistent with President Trump's vision," the PMO office said.

Trump earlier demanded Israel stop bombing Gaza "immediately" after Hamas said on Friday night it is willing to release all hostages in an effort to re-enter negotiations over Trump's deal to end the war in Gaza.

Hamas late Friday night said in a statement it would release all hostages, living and dead, "according to the exchange formula outlined in President Trump’s proposal, provided that field conditions necessary for the exchange are secured."

Hamas officials later told international media that it would likely take longer than the 72 hours outlined in the US proposal to release them.

Hamas senior official Mousa Abu Marzouk told Al Jazeera that it would take longer than 72 hours to release the living hostages and the bodies of those killed - claiming that such a deadline was unrealistic under the current circumstances.

Hamas gave mediators its response to US President Donald Trump's plan for ending the Gaza war earlier Friday evening and promised that it would approve transferring the power of the Gaza Strip over to a Palestinian governing body that would be elected "based on Palestinian national consensus and with Arab and Islamic support."

Marzouk promised the handover of power would come with the transfer of weapons from Hamas to the future Palestinian rulers.

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Based on the Statement just issued by Hamas, I believe they are ready for a lasting PEACE. Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza, so that we can get the Hostages out safely and quickly! Right now, it’s far too dangerous to do that. We are already in discussions on details to be worked out. This is not about Gaza alone, this is about long sought PEACE in the Middle East.”

Hamas officials stated that Trump's response to the agreement has been "encouraging."
“President Trump’s statements on the immediate cessation of Israeli bombings in the Gaza Strip are encouraging,” Hamas spokesman Taher al-Nunu told AFP.

“Hamas is ready to immediately begin negotiations to achieve a prisoner exchange, end the war, and ensure the withdrawal of the (Israeli) army from the Gaza Strip,” he added.

Palestinian-American mediator Bishara Bahbah told Al Arabiya that mediators have already begun discussions with Hamas to reach an agreement on the disputed areas of the deal, and Trump's speedy response to Hamas confirms he likely did not consult with Netanyahu.

One political source told N12 News that Jerusalem believed the terms of the deal were final. "There is full cooperation and coordination with the US, also regarding the timetable. We have passed the negotiation stage," a political source told N12.

The source added that Israel will not conduct renewed negotiations on the proposal, which Jerusalem considers to be final.

"Despite reports about the plan that talks about releasing all the hostages, I believe we will see a gradual move here...This is the American insistence on releasing all the hostages together," a source involved in the negotiations told N12.

"Trump demanded to be directly involved. The Americans are mobilized with all their might. Trump wants to end the war and return all the hostages."

While Trump's press secretary expressed that Hamas's response was an acceptance of the deal, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid shared, "President Trump is right that there is an unprecedented opportunity here to release the hostages and end the war. Israel should announce that it is joining discussions led by President Trump to close the final details regarding the deal. I informed the American administration that Netanyahu has political backing to continue the process."

The militant organization added that regarding the "other issues included in President Trump’s proposal concerning the future of the Gaza Strip and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, these are linked to a comprehensive national position and to relevant international laws and resolutions."

Hamas said that these will be discussed in a “unified Palestinian national framework in which Hamas will participate and contribute responsibly.” The acceptance came hours after Trump issued an ultimatum to the terror group, insisting Hamas had until Sunday to accept the deal or face "all HELL like no one has ever seen before."

Pressure on Hamas to accept the deal also came as Trump's 20 point plan gained backing from the heads of Islamic nations, including some of Hamas's allies.

The world’s richest man, Elon Musk on has posted a video on the X platform showing the Tesla Optimus robot learning kung fu.

The video showed Tesla’s humanoid robot throwing a lot of punches, kicks, and slick defensive moves in perfect sync with a human trainer inside a sleek Fremont lab. The 45-second clip, which was shared directly from Musk’s account, has been seen by over 12 million people.

It mixes sci-fi style with real engineering skill, and it has fans and sceptics alike talking about the future of robotics. The video shows Optimus, now in its second generation, perfectly copying the trainer’s martial arts moves. Its smooth movements are made possible by AI neural networks that process live video feeds in real time.

The Robot doesn’t need a clunky remote control; it can keep its balance perfectly and dodge punches and counter with the accuracy of a pro fighter.

“Optimus isn’t just walking; it’s dancing with danger,” Musk captioned the post, adding a winking emoji that ignited a storm of replies from 150,000 users. Tesla’s push with Optimus has been no secret, but this demo amps up the hype.

The company eyes factory deployment by late 2025, starting with mundane tasks like sorting parts and hauling tools to free up human workers for creative gigs. Musk, ever the showman, teased during a quick X Space follow-up: “Imagine this in your garage by 2026, your personal sparring partner or warehouse wizard.”

Production ramps to one million units a year from next summer, priced between $20,000 and $30,000, making it cheaper than a used Tesla Model S. Reactions poured in fast. Tech analyst Cathie Wood called it “a robotics revolution”, predicting Optimus could add $10 trillion to global GDP by 2030.

Mariah Carey is clearing the air on one of the strangest stories tied to her long-running feud with Eminem.

Rumor had it that the beef between the two stars began after the rapper allegedly asked the pop diva to play his mother in the 2002 movie 8 Mile. Eminem, now 52, is just four years younger than Carey, who’s 56.

Appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Mariah admitted there might actually be some truth to the story — but says she couldn’t care less.

“From what I heard, there is truth to that, but I don’t think that he actually—well, who knows who approached who?” she said.

When Cohen pressed if that sparked the feud, Carey brushed it off: “No, I mean, maybe, it depends what he’s thinking. I really don’t care. Like, whatever he’s said, then I’m that, fine. Not really. But that’s a rap lyric.”

The part eventually went to Kim Basinger, who is 15 years older than Carey, in the semi-autobiographical film about Eminem’s rise to fame.

Back in June, producer Damion Young recalled how Eminem had asked him to connect him with Carey, and during a phone call, allegedly told her directly: “I want you to play my mother.” Young claimed that triggered her insecurities at the time.

The pair’s fallout has since spanned over two decades, with both stars taking shots at each other in interviews and music — from Eminem name-dropping Carey on multiple tracks to Mariah firing back with songs like Clown and the now-infamous Obsessed.

Hollywood actor and R&B singer Tyrese Gibson has been arrested and charged with animal cruelty after one of his Cane Corso dogs allegedly mauled a neighbour’s pet to death in Atlanta.

The 46-year-old star, best known for playing Roman Pearce in the Fast & Furious franchise, turned himself in on Friday morning, October 4, at Fulton County Jail. He was officially booked around 6 a.m. and later released on a $20,000 bond.

According to police, the incident happened on September 18 in the Buckhead area of Atlanta while Tyrese was away from home. A neighbour’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was reportedly killed in the attack, with authorities linking one of Tyrese’s four Cane Corsos to the fatal mauling.

The actor had previously been warned multiple times about letting his dogs roam off-leash, officials said.

Following the tragedy, Tyrese rehomed all four of his dogs and, through his lawyer, expressed condolences to the family of the deceased pet. His attorney also stressed that Tyrese has been fully cooperating with investigators and will continue to do so until the case is resolved.

Police, however, maintain that his negligence directly led to the death of the smaller dog, with Captain Nicole Dwyer confirming that all four of Tyrese’s dogs are to be handed over to the authorities as part of the ongoing case.

The arrest has stirred reactions online, with many shocked that the star — who recently spoke publicly about taking a “mental health break” and even travelled to Dubai — is now facing legal troubles back home.

Tyrese, who rose to fame as a singer before becoming a Hollywood regular, has yet to personally address the case.

A young woman rushed to the hospital with suspected appendicitis ended up giving birth to a baby boy she did not know she waa pregnant with.

Megan Isherwood, 26, was rushed to the hospital after suffering severe pains in her right side and vomiting up blood.

Doctors at Blackburn Hospital feared she had appendicitis and ordered ultrasound and CT scans.

To their surprise they saw a little head and foot and realized that she was pregnant — even though she had taken a test days earlier which was negative.

The bar manager was then rushed to Burnley hospital but on the way she gave birth to little Jaxson who weighed 4.6lbs on Sept 9.

Isherwood, from Blackburn, Lancs, said: “I was speechless — I couldn’t believe what had just happened.

“I had no bump, no symptoms at all, he just came out of nowhere.

“I wouldn’t change anything for it other than I wish Jaxson had let me know that he was around before he was born.

“He is a miracle.”

On the day Isherwood gave birth she woke up at 4 p.m. feeling ill and asked her friend, Gabbie Rose, 26, to drop off a bottle of Coke as she felt her blood sugar was low.

Isherwood said: “When Gabbie arrived, she told me I looked terrible as I was hunched over and that I needed to go to the hospital.

“I have a high pain threshold, so she knew I had something wrong with me.”

Gabbie then called 111 and an ambulance arrived within an hour.

The has revealed that paramedics checked her over and assumed she was suffering from appendicitis due to the pain she was feeling on the right side of her body as well as her high heart rate and nausea.

She arrived at Blackburn hospital at 5:30 p.m. and was taken to the intensive care unit.

Isherwood was next in line to be seen by a doctor when “blood gushed” out of her and soaked the bed.

She was rushed into a room and told how “15 doctors were crowded around her trying to find out what was wrong”.

She said: “They decided to do a CT scan as well as an ultrasound to rule out pregnancy but that was when they found a head and a foot.

“They then blue-lighted me to Burnley hospital as they have a midwifery.

“On the way there the paramedic said to me if I need to push just let them know and push hard.

“As soon as she said that, it was like something clicked and I just needed to push.

“The next thing you know they told me ‘congratulations it is a boy’.
“I was so shocked and flustered, I couldn’t believe what had just happened.”

Jaxson was born at 33 weeks, and just minutes after he was born he had turned blue and stopped breathing.

But luckily paramedics managed to bring him back to life before they arrived at the hospital.

Jaxson was taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Isherwood was rushed into the birth suite and then put in her own room on the postnatal ward.

There she was told that both she and Jaxson had an infection and were diagnosed with sepsis, but both made a full recovery after being placed on antibiotics.

A couple of days later Jaxson stopped breathing again but was brought back around by doctors once more.

Isherwood said: “He didn’t make himself known before he was born but he definitely did after almost dying twice.

“He is such a brave boy.”

He was eventually discharged on September 25 and has been happy at home with mom since.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been sentenced to over four years behind bars for his pr0stitution conviction.

The music mogul, 55, reportedly hung his head as Judge Arun Subramanian handed down the sentence of 50 months in a Manhattan courtroom on Friday, as Diddy's weeping family watched on from the gallery.

The judge also slapped him with a fine of $500,000 as he condemned him for his 'savage' abuse of his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, saying he was making an example of him because he caused 'irreperable harm' to his victims.

'Deterrence requires a significant sentence' he said, noting that Diddy held more 'freak offs' even after he had been subjected to search warrants and public shaming over his abuse of Ventura.

'You abused the power and control you had over the lives of women you professed to love dearly,' the judge said. 'Why did it go on so long? Because you had the power and resources to keep it going.'

The decision came following a tumultuous sentencing hearing, with the judge deciding at the start of the day he would still consider evidence from s£x trafficking and racketeering charges that he was cleared of back in July.

Prosecutors then told the judge Diddy had arrogantly arranged speaking arrangements for Monday in Miami, suggesting he didn't believe he was going to spend any more time behind bars at all.

Diddy's attorney, Nicole Westmoreland, broke down in tears in her argument for a light sentence, claiming he deserved leniency because he was awarded Menswear Designer of the Year by the American Fashion Council in 2004.

'It wasn't just about an award, it was about breaking barriers,' she said, as courtroom reporters said she appeared to start crying.

The sentence delivered on Friday marks a dramatic downfall for the 55-year-old, who was once among the most influential figures in the entertainment industry.
